Restoring forests, building resilience.

Every Forested-Community Needs a Timbershed

This public-private partnership (P3) is designed to:

  • Increase regional utilization of wood resources that are presently chipped, piled or burned

  • Reduce wildfire risk

  • Create skilled, living-wage jobs in forestry, manufacturing, and procurement

  • Preserve critical rural infrastructure under threat of conversion

  • Serve as a model for Timbershed’s work to connect regional wood product manufacturers

Anchored by a sawmill and manufacturing facility, Timbershed is under contract to develop its flagship wood campus.

Sonoma County, CA

Transforming wildfire risk into economic opportunity.

Timbershed provides a critical economic solution to improve forest health and mitigate wildfires by supporting the use of wood that has no place to go.

“Just as infrastructure is necessary for the production and distribution of food, energy and water, a wood products campus is critical infrastructure to effectively manage our forests.”
